Our mission
Move trade documents onto open digital infrastructure.
The Bill of Lading is one of the oldest commercial documents in existence. It is also one of the last major commercial documents that still travels by courier. The global standards to fix that already exist. UNCITRAL published MLETR in 2017. Singapore built TradeTrust. The UK passed the Electronic Trade Documents Act. The legal and technical foundation is there.
What was missing was accessible infrastructure built on top of those open standards. That is what DocuShield is. We have 17 years of maritime operations expertise on the team through Leandro Chaves, and over a decade of banking relationships through Mia Sultana-Ball. The domain knowledge is here. The technology is built.
DocuShield is built on TradeTrust, which means any party can verify a document without a DocuShield account. If we disappear tomorrow, your documents remain verifiable. That is what it means to build on open infrastructure.

Jose leads DocuShield's strategy, product direction, and customer relationships. He started DocuShield after seeing first-hand how slow, manual trade documents hold back operations that should run faster.

David leads DocuShield's relationships with banks, carriers, and institutional trade finance counterparties. His background is in building trust between new technology and established financial institutions.

Leandro brings 17 years of maritime operations experience from OSM Thome, one of the world's largest ship management companies. He advises DocuShield on maritime document workflows, port procedures, and carrier requirements.
Mia Sultana-Ball
Banking and Finance Advisor
Mia brings 13+ years of banking experience and established relationships across financial institutions. She advises DocuShield on bank-side adoption, treasury management, and trade finance strategy.
